TESTIMONIALS
Anke is the only trainer I’m aware of in NSW who works in the Academic Art of Riding, which teaches the old style of classical dressage as well as the science behind it. These methods focus not on flashiness but correct movement so the horse learns true self carriage, lifting the back and poll, and holding itself in an uphill, open frame. No heaviness on the forehand and behind the vertical here. Your horse will learn to really push off the hind legs and bring its feet right under the body through groundwork first, and then riding.
On the ground, the in-hand work will strengthen the bond and trust between you and your horse, and you will begin to see how your body language influences their movement.
In the saddle you will learn lightness and refined aids that encourage biomechanically correct movement to set your horse up for a lifetime of soundness. You will learn to train your eye and will soon notice the difference between classical and modern teachings and how they affect the movement and balance of the horse. Your horse will learn to release tension and behavioural issues will begin to ease. She truly cares about every horse she works with and isn’t afraid to tell the hard truth, even if you don’t want to hear it.
If your instincts have been telling you that something isn’t right with your horse, if you are fighting them every step of the way and encountering resistance, give Anke a call. Your horse will thank you for it 🙏🏼

Anke has been working with my young Clydesdale while he’s had a “working holiday” with her at her training facility in Minimbah. I’m so so happy with how he’s progressed and built strength and body awareness with her. 🙏🙏🙏…. Just go on her page and see what she’s about 🦄

“A different language is a different vision of life.” - Frederico Fellini.
So too, with dressage. Learning Anke’s beautiful language of classical dressage - of understanding the horse’s body and mind, of feeling into and working within the horse’s balance, of dancing not dominating - has given me a fundamentally different (and much improved!) vision of what I want to be as a rider and a coach.
Anke’s ability to sense into both horse and rider biomechanics to see how something can be improved is phenomenal. Her eye for intricate detail, tiny nuance, or the subtlest shift of the horse or rider’s body mean that lessons are fascinating, intense, and hugely rewarding.
Thanks to Anke, my horses are working and performing better. But more importantly the work is developing them; making them stronger, more balanced, and more capable. Anke’s work has even improved my eventing horse’s jumping, because she has learnt new ways to use herself.
In a lesson with Anke, be prepared to question everything you ‘know’ to be true. But the rewards are rich for riders who dare to do dressage differently, and Anke is just the person to help you with that.
